Elisha HubbardHello! Welcome to my Capstone project online portfolio. I'd like to introduce myself so you know a bit about the person whose work you will be reviewing.
I began my association with law enforcement after joining the Army in 2001 as a combat medic assigned to a military police company. A short time later, I cross trained and also became a military police officer. I've deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. I'm still a member of the Army National Guard and am currently assigned as the First Sergeant of a Military Police Company. After returning from my last deployment, I determined I needed to focus on my civilian career. I joined the San Diego County Sheriff's Department in 2012. I worked patrol at two of the busiest stations in the county, servicing the areas of Lemon Grove and Spring Valley. I am currently assigned to the Sheriff's Analysis Driven Law Enforcement (SADLE) Team. I am a Field Training Officer, an active Honor Guard Member, an Explorer Advisor and Drill Instructor, as well as a member of the Peer Support team. |
I obtained my associates in general education from Cuyamaca College in 1998. In 2006, after returning from Iraq, I completed my Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University. When I decided to pursue my Master's Degree, I chose the University of San Diego not only for its reputation as an institute of excellence, but primarily due to the extensive and sincere effort that USD staff put into developing this Law Enforcement Leaders program as it is specific to the unique needs of this profession. The final line of the USD's mission statement fits law enforcement to a “T”: “preparing leaders who are dedicated to ethical conduct and compassionate service.”
I'm proud to be a member of the 2017 inaugural class of the Master's program for Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership.
